Joan A. "Joanne" Webb, 89 years old, of Johnson City, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2023. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents John and Anne Dedek, her brother Rev. John "Jack" Dedek, and by her husband of 43 years, James A. "Jim" Webb, in 1999. She is survived by her five children, Jim (Joan) Webb, Terri (Don) Ellerbach, Rob (Colleen Graff) Webb, Karen Webb, Jane (Matt) Russell, her ten grandchildren Kathy (Alex) Ruzsa, Jimmy (Kristina) Webb, Tommy (Traci) Webb, Laura Ellerbach, Jonathan (Mandi) Ellerbach, Michael (Kayleen) Ellerbach, Mary Graff, Ronnie Graff, Joelle Russell, Jack Russell and seven great-grandchildren, Joey, Hudson, Stella, Max, Grace, Lexi and Ellie, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born and raised in Evergreen Park, IL, in the south side of Chicago, where, after graduating from high school, she completed a degree at a local business college, worked as a comptometrist, and later met her husband Jim at a CYO dance. They lived and raised their family in Bradley, IL, moving to Vestal, NY in 1984. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was fully supportive and thoughtful in all she did and created for them and everyone in her life, including her crocheted and needlepoint gifts, which she loved to create for her family and friends. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Blessed Sacrament Parish in Vestal, NY. She used her many organizational skills in her volunteer work with Catholic Charities and Senior Net. She formed many lifelong friendships from her involvement in activities at the Jewish Community Center. Later in life, she enjoyed travel, playing pinochle and dominoes with her friends at the United Methodist Homes Hilltop community, an occasional visit to a casino, and most of all, sharing time with family and friends. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities or United Methodist Homes. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, January 20th at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road in Vestal. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City with luncheon to follow afterward. The Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 – 10:45 AM.
