Obituary of Sarah A. Mollen

Sarah Mollen, 86 of Binghamton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday January 24, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Joseph Mollen; her sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Joseph Novak; and her brother, Edward. She is survived by her brothers, Joseph Mollen, Thomas and Patricia Mollen, all of Endwell; along with many nieces and nephews. Sarah graduated from St. Patrick's Academy, Misericordia and State University of New York at Cortland. She was a teacher in the Southern Tier for over 30 years enriching the lives of her young students. Sarah was an active member of the Monday Afternoon Club and the Ladies of Charity for many years. Upon retirement she pursued art classes and became an accomplished artist later in life. Sarah was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Wednesday at 10 a.m. Reverend Monsignor John P. Putano, her pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.
