Obituary of Merina A. Testa-Korenko

Please share a memory of Merina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is July, 2020 and like many people, I have been thinking abut my own mortality and of those I love. So I simply decided to write this obituary so as not put the burden on my loved ones. I hope to be joining my mother and father, Betty and Michael Testa, along with my brothers, Matthew and Mike and many other loved ones who went before me. I had the most amazing mother-in-law, Betty Korenko and I can't wait to see her as well. And to thank her for the gift of Jerry Korenko. I have been so blessed to meet Jerry when we were young and he has been so good to me, always by my side, never wavering. My sole purpose in life for a very long time was to raise my daughter Dawn, and to give her the best life that I could. I love her dearly and she is my pride and joy. Dawn married Richard Turner, an amazing man, and I have been blessed with some wonderful Grandchildren, Jordan Ballard, Abigail Turner and Victor Turner. They have enriched my life so much. And boy am I going to miss my sisters and their families. Peggy Leach, Mary Wescott, Marcella DeShay, and Marlene Whitbeck. They have been without a doubt some of my greatest supporters, my best friends, and I will miss each and every one of them. I have chosen to be cremated, and have asked my family to take some of my ashes to Cape May, and scatter me in one of my favorite places ever, the water. Love you all and hope to see you on the other side. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday at 1 p.m. Rev. Msgr. John P. Putano will officiate. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
