Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Costello of Binghamton died Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Willow Point Nursing Home. She was born in Syracuse, NY and was predeceased by her husband John E. Costello in 1978. She is survived by her children, Patricia and James Corby, Binghamton, John and Kathleen Costello, Vestal, Michael and Diane Costello, Binghamton, Robert and Susan Costello, Binghamton; her grandchildren, Jennifer, J.P., Kerry, Erin, Laura, Rachel, Katie and Robert Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Corby, August, Maggie, Brogan, Madeline, Liam, Gavin, Ellody; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton. Betty retired as a bookkeeper at Olum's of Binghamton. She was a great seamstress and loved to knit. She was a caring person, easy to be with and had her own sense of personal humor. She loved life and loved to dance and will be missed by her family. A Memorial Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton Friday January 31, 2014 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Church of Saints John and Andrew Friday from 12 noon until 1 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Betty may be made to the Samaritan House, 11 Fayette St. Binghamton, NY 13901.
