Obituary of Dr. Greg V. Wixsom

Dr. Greg V Wixsom passed away on November 8th 2022 with his loving wife of forty years and his son at his side. Greg was predeceased by his parents, George Wixsom, his mother Margaret Hummel, his two sisters, Wendy Le Blanc and a sister Shannon Wixsom and his brother Chad Wixsom. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Teresa and his beloved son Alex; brothers Jory Wixsom, Neil Wixsom (Keeko) , Noel Wixsom Catherine) and sister Margo Wixsom ( Greg) and several nieces nephews and cousins Greg was born In Rochester NY. He attended Bishop Kearney high school. He received a bachelor's in science from St. John Fischer College and then attended Case western university where he received a master's degree and the Ohio School of Podiatry. Greg had a podiatry practice in Binghamton for forty years. He also served as a podiatrist to most of the nursing homes in this area. Greg was a shining light to his family and all who met him, especially his elderly patients who looked forward to his visits. Greg was a avid hockey fan! Greg and his son Alex were always present at the games. They also enjoyed many trips with the booster club. He enjoyed stargazing at Kopernick observatory and backyard stargazing with his many telescopes and binoculars He was an avid reader of philosophy, science, and history and much more. He enjoyed long walks and gardening with his wife Teresa. Our hearts are broken and he will be truly missed by all. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday at 1 p.m. Rev. Msgr. John P. Putano will officiate. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. All are welcome to celebrate a life will lived.
