Obituary of Thomas H. O'Hara

Thomas (Tom) H. O'Hara, born and raised in Vestal, NY, passed away November 2, 2022. He was a member of the army National Guard, spent ten years with the Vestal Police Department and was the proud owner of O'Hara's Restaurant, Owego, NY, for over 50 years. He made many life-long friends at his place of business who became his second family. He is survived by his two sons, Thomas and Michael, three grandchildren, Seamus, Caoilainn, and Declan, brothers James (Mary Ann), Edward, Joseph (Maureen) and two sisters, Mary and Julia (Tim Murphy), sisters-in-law Roseanne and Peggy, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Julia, and two brothers Robert and Gerald. We thank Mercy House who watched over him in his last days, all the people who visited him and all the cards and gifts he received while he was ill. We also thank the staff at O'Hara's Restaurant, his faithful customers and all the many friends and family who supported him through the years. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, 465 Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. The O'Hara family will receive friends at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament church, Friday November 18, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Donations on his behalf can be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N.
