Obituary of Edward Kiluk

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edward Kiluk, 82, went to be with the Lord, Sunday October 2, 2022. He was predeceased by his son, Edward Jr., grandchildren Mikey, Hope and Victoria Kiluk. He is survived by the love of his life Florence, daughters Kathy (Rob) Phillips, Debra (Derek) Westgate and Jennifer (Dana Wells) Giammarino, sons Michael (Jennifer) Kiluk, and Brian (Sabrina) Kiluk. Ed is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was born in Plymouth, PA, and raised in the coal-mining community in Northern PA. He attended Larksville High School where he met his sweetheart Florence and they married at age 19. After serving 4 years in the United States Air Force, he and Florence moved to Johnson City where he worked for GE Aerospace, and they raised their 6 children. Ed was devoted to his Catholic faith and was an active member of Blessed Sacrament (St Vincent De Paul) church for 58 years. He volunteered his time generously as a Eucharistic Minister, usher, and CYO basketball coach. Ed was loved by all that knew him at work, church, in the community, and especially by his family. Generosity and hospitality were second nature to him, and he welcomed friends with open arms, a great meal, and good spirits. He loved spending time with his family, vacationing, celebrating the holidays and turning any event into a memorable celebration. A shot and a beer were his trademark, his sense of humor was iconic, and he always had a good time no matter the event or location. His hobbies included coaching his kids' various sports teams, fishing, and playing sports in the backyard with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed competition and teaching others what it meant to be a good sport, even if that included some playful teasing of your opponent. Ed was a dedicated New York sports fan, cheering relentlessly for the Yankees, Jets and Knicks. He was the Man, the Myth, and the Legend. Funeral Services will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. In Lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, in care of St Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, 165 Clifton Blvd, Vestal, NY 13850.
