Obituary of Patrick Shoemaker

Please share a memory of Patrick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On July 23, 2022 we lost our beloved father, son, brother, and friend, Patrick "Paddy" Shoemaker. Paddy was born on April 1, 1986 and grew up on the south side of Binghamton with his parents and three brothers. After graduating from Binghamton High School, Paddy served his country in the United States Marine Corps, just like his grandfather William Eggleston. During his time of service, Paddy was deployed to Afghanistan and also became a sergeant. Again following in the footsteps of his grandfather Willie, Paddy served with the Binghamton Fire Department for 5 years. He moved to join the DC Metro Police, where he continued to protect and serve others in the Washington DC area. Paddy (also affectionately known as P-Shoe), loved his kids above all else, and strived to be a father they would be proud of. He loved his family and was also very close with his military family and childhood friends. He had contagious energy that spread to everyone he knew. Paddy was an adventurer as well as an avid storyteller and could talk for hours at a time! Paddy is survived by his son, James and his mother, Sully; his daughter, Ava and her mother Myeshia; his parents, Jim and Bridget; his brothers and sisters-in-law Dan and Courtney, Kevin and Amanda, and Mike and Miriam; his nieces, Ella, Ryleigh, and Adeline; his nephew, Zeke; his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. His love for his children didn't come to an end with his death. His family and friends will carry him in their hearts and honor his spirit and legacy by living their lives to the fullest. A private interment will be held on Monday. In addition, family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at Arnold Park on Andrews Road in Vestal, NY from 1-4. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to GoFundMe for his children, James and Ava. Go to the GoFundMe website and search "Children of Paddy Shoemaker: James & Ava" or use the following URL. https://www.gofundme.com/f/james-ava-shoemaker?utm_source=customer&utm_mediu m=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1 "If I could sit across the porch from God, I'd thank Him for lending me you."
