Obituary of Robert G. Herbst

Robert Herbst of Binghamton NY passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Friday June 3rd, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Louise Herbst, his sister Ruth Wiley, brothers John and William Herbst and his daughter Catherine Donaldson. Bob will be deeply missed by Lorraine, his loving wife of 46 years, his daughters Karen Rich, Crysal Baer, Sandra Brownell and son Michael Herbst and his wife Laura; granddaughters Lauren Thomas, Ayana Baer; grandsons Jesse Baer and Liam Brownell, and greatgrandchildren Zaden, Isla and Aria Baer. He will continue to be in the hearts of his brothers and sister in law Allen and Margaret Daly and his niece's families, Ron and Jenifer Yuri, Emily Sopko and Allen-Michal Rios, Stefany, Ty, and Carson Mowry. Bob will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Bob had many interests including wood carving, furniture refinishing, oil painting and gardening to name a few. He retired from Rust engineering in Birmingham Alabama as a Senior Mechanical Designer. Bob will always be remembered as a wonderful, caring man and will be greatly missed by all. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Friday June 10 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday, June 9th, 2022 from 3 to 6 p.m.
