Leo J. Murphy, 81, of Binghamton, died Thursday, January 2, 2014, at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Leo J. Murphy Sr.; and his sisters and brothers, Josephine Murphy, Alice Murphy, Agnes Murphy, Vincent Murphy, Helen Richardson, Beverly Barnes, Marilyn "Dottie" Vashina, John Murphy, Michael Murphy, Dennis Murphy, William Murphy, Gary Murphy. He is survived by his sisters, Janet LaVasser, Anna Mae and John Tokos, Kathleen Farmer, all of Binghamton; sister-in-law, Barbara Murphy, Binghamton. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, Binghamton. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of VFW Post 478. Leo was a retired chef at Morey's Restaurant. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Church, Binghamton, Monday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City, in the spring. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Sunday from 4-6 p.m.
