William "Bill" Raymond Coughlin Jr., 86, entered heaven Thursday May 5, 2022. Predeceased by his parents Catherine and William, sister Pat, brothers Tim and Jack and many beloved friends, Bill is survived by his wife Millie, daughters Colleen (John), Kim (Patrick), Chris (Brian), grandchildren Seth Ian, Claire, Maeve, and Grace, brothers Denny (Marion), Mart (Susie), and Richard, and sisters-in-law Linda (Barbara) , Barbara Coughlin , Pat Coughlin and brother-in-law Keith (Nancy), and a large extended family. A lifelong resident of Binghamton, proud Air Force veteran, retired electrical engineer, handyman, avid camper and Buick owner, enthusiastic trailer salesman, Oktoberfest organizer, dedicated JayCee leader, Pee Wee Football coach, Notre Dame and Yankees fan, devout Catholic and dedicated member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bill loved his life and his community. Throughout many health ordeals these past few years, he was a warrior to the end, facing all challenges with a positive attitude, humility, and grace. Born during the Great Depression, Bill grew up on Lawton Avenue with his six siblings, parents and grandmother in a 3 bedroom, 1 bath home. It was here and visits to the farm on Bunn Hill where Bill's lifelong playful spirit and general sense of mischief were nurtured. Supported by his family, neighbors, friends, and church who bore witness to his struggles, Bill taught us all through his perseverance, strength, endurance and affable spirit. He will be missed. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton, Thursday May 12, 2022 at 11a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive family and friends at J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday May 11 from 4-7 p.m. The Mass will be livestreamed at tinyurl. com/12w5eun or by going to https://sta-sp.org/. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charitable donation of your choice or to St. Thomas Aquinas Church in his name. "Well done, good and faithful servant: … enter thou into the joy of thy lord."
