Obituary of Eugene F. Cahill

Eugene F. "Patches" Cahill, 102 of Binghamton, NY died April 2, 2022 at The Villages in Endwell, NY. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Geraldine Cahill, parents Patrick & Emma Cahill, his brothers Joseph D. Cahill & Thomas Cahill, his sisters, Mary R. Brady, Gertrude Hirschoff & Eileen Willerton. He is survived by his children James & Marcie Cahill of Endwell, NY, Kevin & Sue Cahill of Palm Coast, FL, Donald & Renee Cahill of Birchwood, TN and David & Karen Cahill of Greece, NY. Nine grandchildren Carl & Tammie Cahill, Michell Cahill & Marc Gerrer, Patrick & Jacqueline, Cahill, Lisa Cahill & Prince Anyanwu, Lauren & Morgan Linkenauger, Jennifer & Mike Sheddan, Jessica Cahill & Dominic Feira, Kimberly Cahill, and Emma Cahill, his sister-in-law Mary Cahill and several nieces & nephews and 8 great grandchildren. He was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Binghamton, NY. He was employed for 31 years as a patrolman with the Binghamton police department and was a member of the Broome County Police and Firefighter retiree organization of which he was treasurer for 10 years. He was a Veteran of World War II serving with the 275th Medium Maintenance Ordinance Co. with the Third Army in the European Theater, member of the VFW Post #478, member Knights of Columbus Peter T. Campon Council 20, member of both Shirts & Skirts and Shufflin' Shoes square dance clubs. A Funeral Mass will be offered at The Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Gene may be made to The Parish of Saints John and Andrew, 7 Livingston Street, Binghamton, NY, 13903.
