Margaret C. (Meggan) Hobart, 60, of Binghamton, NY, passed away on March 22, 2022, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
Meggan was born in Binghamton, NY to Dr. Richard G. Hobart and Margaret E. Hobart on May 28, 1961. She attended high school at Binghamton North High School and graduated in 1979. She attended Broome Community College and Ann Marie's World of Beauty. She held various positions over the years, but her favorite was working at Champion Speedway and Action Park East where she formed many close friendships over the years. Meggan had a love for motorcycles and enjoyed the extended family she formed through cycling adventures.
Meggan is survived by her mother, Margaret E. Hobart of Binghamton, NY, her sister Bridgette Hobart (Bob Janeczko) of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, her brother James Hobart (Kimberly Collins) of Conklin, NY, her niece Casey Hobart of Johnson City, NY, her aunt and uncle Joanne and John O'Loughlin of San Jose, CA, cousins Kevin, Joseph and Mary Eileen O'Loughlin, and her beloved Corgi, Speedway Roxy. She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Richard G. Hobart and nephew, Corey Hobart.
A celebration of life will be held at The Relief Pitcher, 197 Conklin Rd, Binghamton, NY on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 12:00 noon. All are welcome to attend (casual attire). The celebration of life continues at Davey's Last Chance Saloon, NY-12, Chenango Forks, NY, for the remainder of the day.
Memorial donations may be made to Broome County Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave, Binghamton, NY 13903. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Meggan's many friends for the love and support over the years, especially in the last few months as she battled lung cancer and the final subdural hematoma from a fall, which she succumbed to.
