Obituary of Sandra K. Gobany

Sandra Gobany, 87, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2022 in Binghamton, NY surrounded by loved ones. Sandy was a lot of things, but her life will be most defined by her devotion to her family. She loved to dance, host gatherings, and learn the local gossip surrounded by her friends and family. All who entered her home were greeted with excitement, food and drink, and the occasional judgement. She held the spirit of a fighting Irishman and could hold her own against anyone brave enough to engage in conversational battle. She was smart, artistic, fiercely loyal, and the most supportive and loving person you could ever know. We all know she is drop kicking it with Jesus with a purple cow in her hand. She is survived by the love of her life, Robert Gobany; daughter Kathy Moore; son James (Robin) Gobany; grandchildren Alexandra (Nick) Punch, Leah (Tyler) Amann, Andrew Gobany, and two great grandchildren Johnny and Robert Punch. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest, Monday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to The Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N.
