Alice E. Lannon, 85, of Binghamton NY, passed away peacefully January 27, 2022 at Good Shepherd Fairview Nursing Home Binghamton, NY. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert & Mary Lannon; brothers, John Lannon Ph. D. and Thomas R. Lannon, sister & brother-in-law Elizabeth & Robert Holleran Sr. Alice is survived by her five nieces and nephews, each one her favorite: Madeline Rockwell RSM of Rochester NY, Mark & Gail Holleran, Matthew & Diane Holleran, Susan & Kenneth Mansfield Jr. of Binghamton NY, Robert Jr. & Carol Holleran of Hudson, NH; 19 great nieces and great nephews: Megan & Justin Carpenter, Melissa Kerwin, Justin & Sarah Rockwell, Eric & Hilary Holleran RPh., Dr. Adam Holleran & Elaine Sakaue, Casey & Mitchell Marcus, Kyle & Dr. Dawnelle Holleran, Kenneth III & Caroline Mansfield, Kristen Mansfield, Kimberly Mansfield, Mary & Craig Conant; as well as 15 great great nieces and nephews and several cousins. Also "forever friend" Sandra Grogan Lederman and her husband Gary. After receiving an Associates of Arts degree from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson Pennsylvania Alice joined the Binghamton Press as a society writer and late society editor. 1959 brought a career change to television at WINR in Binghamton which later became WICZ-TV. After 17 years a move across the river landed her at WBNG-TV where she spent the next 20 years, the last 15 of which were "behind the scenes'' as traffic manager. Retiring in 1996 left Alice more time to volunteer at Saint Mary's soup kitchen, CHOW food drives and 40 plus years of faithful service at Lourdes Hospital. Alice was also A Life member of Beta Sigma Phi International. To the staff of Good Shepherd Cameo Court Home, our sincere thanks for the care and compassion that you showed to our Aunt Alice during the past year that she was with you. "Always remember the power of prayer" A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.
