Obituary of Rita A. Monahan

Rita A. Monahan of Brackney Pa., passed away peacefully when Our Heavenly Father called home one of his true angels November 17th, 2021. Rita was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Ellen Monahan, brother Lawrence Monahan, Jr. (Toni), brothers-in-law Samuel (Whitey) Burns and Merwin (Phip) Geertgens. She is survived by her sisters, Ellen Shelp and Martha Geertgens, both of Brackney, Pa., and Mary Burns of Winterhaven, Fl. Rita was extremely loved by all her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her kindness, generosity and love. A special thank you to the staff at Meadow View Healthcare Center in Montrose, Pa., and Dr. Speicher for the wonderful care they provided Rita. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Augustine's Church, 295 Church Road, Brackney, Pa. on December 3rd, 2021, 12 noon. The family will receive family and friends from 10am to 12 noon at the Church. Rita had a true love of animals especially her horses and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susquehanna County Humane Society, Montrose, Pa., and /or the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Dept., Brackney Pa., in loving memory of her.
