Edward J. Curley, 76 of Mohawk, NY formerly of Binghamton, NY passed at home on Friday, November 12 after a lengthy illness. Ed was born March 30, 1945 in Binghamton, NY. Ed is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ethel (McMahon) Curley, his sisters Marianne Mastriani, Michele Murphy, and Patricia Curley. He is survived by his devoted brother-in-law Michael Murphy of Dryden, NY and his nieces in New York, Ohio and Ireland. He graduated from Catholic Central in 1964 and went on to attend St. John Fisher in Rochester NY. For over 30 years he was a resident at ARC Herkimer group home. He retired from working at ARC at 66. He was lovingly known by his caregivers and housemates as quiet and friendly. They became over time his family. Ed enjoyed watching college sports and the Yankees on tv, he was also an avid reader of the Observer Dispatch newspaper. He looked forward to his outings to Babe's Restaurant, Stewart's, and McDonalds. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday at 12 noon. Rev. Corey S. VanKuren will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Thursday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon.
