Ann Benko, 94 passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 5 and was raised up to meet her heavenly Father and her deceased husband Henry. Ann was raised in Susquehanna, Pa and then moved to Binghamton upon marriage. Ann was a founding member of St. Andrews and was an active parishioner at St. John and Andrew until her last days. Ann devoted her life to staying home and caring for her family. She always complained about cooking but was a great baker. She always enjoyed spending time at Cape May, NJ and traveling. She is survived by Kathleen Catchpole (David), Rick Benko (Mary Lou), Robert Benko ( Laurie), and Mike Benko( Marilena). Also survived by 9 grand children and 5 great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in Ann's memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY, 13760 or to the Church of Saints John and Andrew Parish Improvement Fund, 7 Livingston Street, Binghamton, NY 13903.
