Obituary of Daniel J. Kane

Daniel Joseph Kane, 81, of Conklin, died Monday January, 11, 2021. He was born on October 24, 1939 in Elmira, NY to the late Harry and Genevieve Kane. He was predeceased by his wife Dolores, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Kane and her partner John Almy; also by several nieces and nephews. He attended Mansfield University and Marywood University where he attained his Master's Degree. He was a Psychiatric Social Worker at the Greater Binghamton Health Center. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Kirkwood and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a sweet, gentle man with a sharp Irish sense of humor. Dan was an avid reader and was a walking encyclopedia who enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge of history with others. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary's Church, Route 11 Kirkwood, Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Mary's Church, Monday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please take part in random acts of kindness to those less fortunate.
