Margaret A. (Margie) Ferranti passed away peacefully on January 13, 2021 at age 82. Margaret was born on January 4, 1939 in Binghamton, NY to Giacinto and Mary Ferranti. She taught English at Chenango Valley High School for many years, later to resign and return to school pursue her true calling as a social worker. Margaret touched many lives, and will be remembered as a loving aunt, a loyal friend, and a kind person. She was beloved not only by her family and feline companions, but also by those she encountered in her professional life. She loved the outdoors and was most at peace when hiking, birdwatching, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Margaret was predeceased by her brother, John Ferranti, her two sisters, Violet and Theresa Ferranti, and both of her parents. She is survived by her niece Lisa Behr (Mark Roth), her great-nephew Richard Behr (Ashley Culpepper), her great-niece Katie Behr, and her countless friends. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Patrick's Church, Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The Mass will be livestreamed at tinyurl.com/12w5eun In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St., New York NY 10014.
