Obituary of Barbara F. Kramer

Barbara Fisher Kramer, 82, of Vestal, died Monday, December 14, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her Husband Honorable Philip Joseph Kramer, her parents, Dr. G. Perry and Dorothy Fisher and her brother-in-law, Tom Cooney. She is survived by her children, P. Perry and Lynn Kramer, Bedford, NH, Donald F. and Suzanne Kramer, Balston Spa, NY A. Matthew Kramer, Honeoye Falls, NY, Sharon Kramer-Graney, Brighton, NY; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, Cameron, Colby, Alex, Gabriella and Erin; sister Eileen Cooney, Binghamton, NY. Her in-laws and members of the Kramer family, CeCe and Alex Bodner, Canandaigua, Nancy and John Bartell, Hornell, Susan Buck, Carole Kramer, Binghamton, Charles and Charlotte Kramer, Binghamton; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Vestal, NY. She enjoyed volunteer work, as well as gardening and shopping. Barb was a graduate of Marywood College with a degree in education. She received her NYS Department of Education Permanent Teaching Certificate and was admitted to the New York State Teachers association in 1960 and taught in multiple school districts through-out her life. She enjoyed helping others learn and succeed through education. She served on the board of directors for Broome Community college for several years. She spent several years Teaching GED courses at the Broome County Jail. Her most recent passion was her volunteer work with UHS including working at Binghamton General Hospital. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Barb may be made to Lourdes Hospital Foundation (Hospice) 169 Riverside Drive, Suite 103, Binghamton, NY 13905.
