Ann H. Sweeney, 89, of Binghamton, NY, peacefully went to be with her Lord and her beloved Dave on Monday, December 31st surrounded by loving family. She is predeceased by her husband, David, her parents Jack and Edna, sisters Rosemary Wilson, Kathryn Dunbar and Jackie Casey, brother John Wilson, her granddaughter Anne Macrander, and her nephew Edward Casey. Ann is survived by her sister, Lillian Wilson, cousin Sr. Lillian Marie Farrell, children Steve (Carol) Sweeney, Ellen (Al) Macrander, Joann Mourhess, Tom (Jen) Sweeney, Paul (Joanne) Sweeney, Michele (Dan) Cuff and Philip (Debbie) Sweeney, sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ann was born in Binghamton to John and Edna Wilson on March 18, 1929. She is a graduate of St. Patrick's Academy and Marywood College. She volunteered with the Ladies of Charity, the Altar Rosary Society and with the Family and Children's Society teaching nutrition classes. She was a lifelong active member of St Patrick's parish. She found great joy in singing with St. Patrick's Church Choir for many decades. She was an avid gardener and her beautiful garden brought joy to many. She loved sewing, playing bridge with the ladies, singing and any kind of party with family and friends. She lit up the room with her glorious smile and laughter. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Olga Hayden and Home Instead for the excellent in-home care that she received and to the staff at Ideal Senior Living Center for their excellent care in their assisted living and nursing facilities. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Friday at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Ann's memory may be made to www.ABTA.org.
