Charles (Chuck) L. Weingartner, age 90 rode his final ride on November 15, 2018 before the snow fell. He was born April 15, 1928 in Binghamton, NY to the late Benjamin and Martha Weingartner. After serving his country in the U.S. Army and working Stowe Manufacturing he retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 32 years of service. Whether you knew him as Charlie, Chuck, Pee-Wee, Grampy or Uncle Chuck, his honesty and love for life always shined brightly through his independent spirit. He also had a special place in his heart for his Harley and his extended Harley family but his children, grandchildren, and great-grand children were the center of his life.
Chuck was predeceased by his loving wife Mae, grandson Morgan Evans, sister Nancy Guillett, brothers Marvin and David and sister-in-laws Carol (Ben) and Sharon (Dave).
He is survived by his children; Debbie Hartmann (Jim), Diane Evans (Don), David Weingartner (Paula), Denise Faber (Bob), Donna Derck (Ed), his 7 grandchildren, Jonathon Hartmann (Britton), Brianna Hartmann, Brendon Evans (Holly), Kaitlin Weingartner, Amy Federico (Mike), Matt Faber, Zachary Derck, and his 2 great-grandchildren, Emma Hartmann, and Declan Federico and his best friend and brother, Ben. He is also survived by a number of close relatives and friends. He was an all-around great man and will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday at 1 p.m. Rev. Msgr. John P. Putano will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Chuck's memory may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy Street, Binghamton, NY 13905 or to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, NY 13790.
