On Saturday November 10, 2018 - Gertrude "Trude" Benjamin, 78 of Conklin, New York was accompanied home by the angels to be with her Lord and Savior. Trude spent her last days on earth surrounded by her loving family. Trude was predeceased by her son Gary Benjamin; Father and Stepmother Willard and Lillian Maas; Mother and Stepfather Esther and Jim Webster; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Albert and Nancy Benjamin; and a brother Sonny Maas. Trude is survived by her husband of 62 years Irvin Benjamin; two sons Michael Benjamin (Rachel) and Faron Benjamin; Six grandchildren: Lea Shaffer (Chris), Megan Benjamin, Marley Vavra (Kayleigh), Gary Benjamin, Haley Benjamin, and Audrey Benjamin; six great grandchildren; Two brothers Louie Maas (Susan) and Ron Moore (Janet), Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Leonard Benjamin (Marsha) and family. Along with Trude's Goddaughter Ella Mae Fletcher and life-long friends Dick and Barbara Wilson. Trude spent 35-years as a beautician in her home after graduating from Triple Cities Beauty School. She enjoyed being a snowbird (November – April) at Crystal Isles RV Park in Crystal River, Florida from 1994 – 2018. Her favorite past times would be spending time with family and friends, traveling, BINGO, crocheting, going to the casinos, and of course watching the New York Yankees. A special thank you to her husband for the wonderful care that he provided to Trude during her illness over the past 5-years. Her husband Irvin, her son Michael Benjamin, granddaughter Lea Shaffer, and Lourdes Hospice for the extra loving help and care given to her at the end of her time on earth. God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched you slowly fade away. Although we loved you dearly we would not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, your hard-working hands put to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
