Obituary of Mary E. Wilson

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary Ellen (Golan) Wilson passed away on October 25, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents, John V. and Margaret Golan, sister Yvonne Shushtari, and brother Neil Golan. She is survived by her husband Stanley, children Todd Wilson (Melissa), Julie Gallagher (Matthew), Shelley Dionne (Peter), Kathy Greene, and Mark Wilson (Amy); and sister Gene Golan Werner (Donald). She was a loving grandmother to Kyle, Adam and Drew Gallagher; Luke Dionne; Alec and Jillian Greene; and Grady, Troxell, Remi and Nash Wilson. She is also survived by several beloved nephews, nieces and cousins. Raised on the family's dairy farm in Binghamton, NY (Golan & Murphy Dairy), she graduated from Marywood College and took a position as a kindergarten teacher at Brookside Elementary School. After raising her children, she insisted on providing daycare for all 10 grandchildren. She was incredibly devoted to her family and neighbors, and had an unparalleled work ethic. She was the center of our family, and she loved nothing more than attending every event her children, and then grandchildren, ever participated in. She was known by all as "Grandma." She will forever be in our hearts. The family would like to thank Dr. Sanjiv Patel and Dr. Joseph Readling, and Lourdes Hospital, Oncology and Hospice staffs for their extraordinary care. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest, Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Because of her love of reading and her 'library around the corner,' in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Fenton Free Library, 1062 Chenango Street, Binghamton NY 13901
