It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Wayne Arthur Koch,68 of Johnson City on Sept. 22, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital Rochester, NY after a short illness. He was predeceased by his Father, Arthur Julius Koch; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Mary Barno; his brother-in-law James Barno and his nephew Joe Nossal. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marie; his children Jennifer, Jarrod and Erik; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Bruce DeShay; sister- in- law, Pat Barno; nieces and nephews Kurt & Chris Barno, Valerie & Jim Roosa, Michele & Dave Lemon, Michael & Jamie DeShay, Jeff & Angel DeShay, Derek & Tammy DeShay, Brett and Laura DeShay; his great nieces and nephews Alec, Holly, Daniel, Adam, Fiona, Emma, Bryce, Riley and Tyler. He is also survived by his Goddaughter Karen Gillis and his fur babies Max, Hanz and Missy. He graduated from Vestal High School, Mansfield University and received his MBA from Binghamton University. He was retired from restaurant management and was looking forward to the new school year as a teacher's aide at Broome – Tioga BOCES, the retirement job he so enjoyed. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity and was a past parish council member of St. Ann's. The family would like to thank Dr. Khan and the Wilson Hospital CVICU staff, the University of Rochester Critical Care Transport Team, Dr. Prasad and the CVICU staff of Strong Memorial Hospital for their loving care and support during these past many weeks. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will be Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642.
