Obituary of Doris E. Barron

Doris E. (Howard) Barron, 107, died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at James G. Johnston Nursing Home, Deyo Hill Road, Johnson City. She was the wife of the late Frederick E. Barron. Doris was born in Cranston, Rhode Island, the daughter of the late Almond O. and Grace (Rounds) Howard. A graduate of Commercial High School, she was a secretary and book keeper for several businesses and a member of the Church of the Master, Baptist, Providence where she was a Life Deacon, Sunday School teacher, member of the choir and directed the Youth Choir at her church and Phillip Memorial Baptist Church, Cranston for several years. She also played the piano in her father's orchestra. Doris is survived by a son, Rev. Dr. Richard H. Barron and his wife Lillian of Berkshire, NY, foster son Arthur Maroney and wife Janet of Fredericksburg, VA, two grandchildren, two foster grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two foster great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the chapel of the United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. Should friends desire, donations in Doris' memory to the United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus or the Church of the Master, 15 Valley Street, P.O.
