Edward Michael Hawley, 83 of Binghamton, died at home on Monday August 20, 2018. He was born February 21, 1935 in Binghamton to James & Elizabeth McCarthy Hawley. He was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School & Niagara University and served in the United States Army. He had a lifelong career in management at the Endicott Johnson Corporation. He was predeceased by his parents James & Elizabeth, his brother James Hawley & his brother-in-law Byron Giblin. Ed is survived by his sister MaryEllen Giblin & his sister-in-law Barbara Hawley. He was a loving & fun Uncle to his eight nieces & nephews, JoAnne Giblin & Ronald Schiesser, Daniel Giblin, Martin & Laura Giblin, Kelly & Richard Burke, James & Molly Hawley, Kathleen & John Munley, Kevin & Nicole Hawley & Kerry & Jeffrey VanAuken, Whether it was trips to Yankee Stadium, Notre Dame, Canada, Lake George. or anywhere in between, he shared his love of traveling with each & every one of them. Ed is also survived by 14 great nieces & nephews & his cousin Ellen Giblin Kenner & friends who loved him very much. Ed was especially fond of being with family & friends at many St Patrick's Day Parades, "The Beef". "The Downs" & Abel's. Spending time with family & friends made Ed smile & he brought happiness to many around him. Ed was a lifelong parishioner of St Thomas Aquinas Church in Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton Friday, September 7, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday September 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Ed's memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
