Dee Shaw, 86 of Binghamton and Alexandria Bay, NY passed away at home surrounded by her family Thursday, June 21, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Carey and Kathryn Carey (McCormick) and stepmother Jane Carey, sister Lucille Tissler and husband of 54 years Dashing Don Shaw. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Steve Kytle, Mary Lisa and Bob Young, Karen and Todd Hurlburt; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Amy Shaw; five wonderful grandchildren who were the loves of her life, Carey Kytle, Joshua and Jaden Hurlburt, Alexis and Madelyn Shaw. Dee was a former member of St. Andrew's Church, Binghamton, and a current member of St Paul's Church, Binghamton. Dee retired from the Social Security Administration in 1993. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She was an active member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 2 where she would volunteer her time and share a few laughs with her many friends. Dee was a very talented cook and had a deep and lasting love of all things butter. She enjoyed spending summers on the St. Lawrence River drinking Coors light while floating through The Islands. Dee will be deeply missed and will forever live in our hearts. A Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 282 Chenango Street, Binghamton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, Binghamton Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Dee may be made to the Danielle House, 160 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
