Please share a memory of Stephen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Stephen Anthony Snyder 69, of Johnson City, passed away on June 13 after a short intense illness. He will be missed dearly by his children, Jarod (grandson Alexander), Harmony Rose, Sean and Christopher Snyder. He is survived and mourned by his siblings Mary A. Snyder, Rose Anne McCarthy, David V. and Thelma (Kramer) Snyder. He was predeceased by his parents Charles & Kathryn Snyder and a brother Charles Snyder Jr. who he had visited weekly at the Oxford Veteran's Nursing Home until his death. He was very close and will be missed greatly by his niece Lorraine McCarthy who was like a sister to him. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children. He will be missed also by his cousins in Portsmouth, Ohio and his cousin Judge Thomas J. and Sandy McAvoy. He had several lifelong friends who made him laugh (Still) all the time, Duane, Dennis 'Chuck' and Kenny. He made a very good friend late in life, John Daniel who was and is a blessing to him and the family. He had many other friends including his Ex-wives Dorothy (Himko) Snyder of Syracuse and Yvonne (Morbito) Miller of Las Vegas both of whom he held in high regard. Stephen loved to drive the faster the better, cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, alpine slides and in his youth roller coasters. Note: not so much lawn mowers. He enjoyed his improving shuffleboard game at the Eagles Club of Johnson City & Binghamton with his teammates as he was a Vietnam era veteran. He was an excellent card player and enjoyed a healthy debate. He cared deeply for social change and for equal rights, he even considered himself an original (male) version of a Feminist. At Stephen's request there will be no service or visiting hours. The family will be having a celebration in Stephen's honor at a later date.
