Obituary of Robert C. Giblin
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On June 11, 2018 Robert C. Giblin joined his parents Joseph Giblin and Mary Baker Giblin in the busom of our Lord. Gibby as he was called was born January 28, 1948 in Binghamton NY. He graduated from Binghamton Central High class of January 1966. He attended Ithaca College where he studied under Rod Serling. Gibby was an accomplished violinist who played with at least two area bands. When he played "Orange Blossom Special" no one could just sit while Gibby tore into that number. Everyone was on their feet dancing & clapping. It was talent in its purest form. The famed folk singer Pete Seeger offered to be his mentor. Gibby will be sorely missed. A special shout out to Linda Clayton, a dear friend who stayed with and comforted him till the end. He is survived by his uncle Thomas Baker. Cousins Shannon Hitchcock and Tiffany Trawick, Terrence Giblin & many Giblin cousins. Also friends who will miss Gibby are Phil Sweeney & Laser Dave Brown who were in the band with Gibby. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
