Obituary of Margaret McCabe
Margaret Flynn McCabe, 97, of Johnson City went to her eternal reward on May 12, 2018, the eve of Mother's Day. What a wonderful, loving wife and mother she was. A Glorious Mother's Day celebration awaited her with God, the Blessed Mother, and all of her family and friends who predeceased her. Faith and Family meant everything to Margaret. All of her values centered around faith and family. Those were the themes expressed in her 2 published books of poetry, "Memories in the Attic," and "Time to Remember." Forgive a slight change to a portion of her Memories in the Attic poem:
"Rain clouds are clearing, tis time to rise up.
Leaving old memories scattered on the floor,
To walk in God's world of eternal joy,
Waiting for me beyond my attic door."
Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, James McCabe, Sr., her parents, Frank and Catherine Flynn; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Catherine McCabe; her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Marion Flynn; her sister, Rita; her twin sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert McMahon; her brother, Jack; her in-laws on the McCabe side, Robert, Marie Skinner, Kathleen and Jack Hawley, Alice and Al Stank, Gerald and Joyce, Helen and Leonard Laskowski, Martin and Eugene.
