Roger A. Ball, 72, of Vestal, died Tuesday February 20, 2018 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was brave in the face of medical challenges. He was predeceased by his parents Milton H. and Wilma C. (Dempsey) Ball. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Sharleen L. Ball; his sisters Joan and Richard Lessor, Salem, MA; Jean and Stephen Gagnon, Salem, MA; his brother-in-law Leo Nolet and Bill, Portland, OR; his good friends Bob Matthews and Steve St. Clair. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Vestal. He was a graduate of Salem High School in 1963 and received a certificate in Accounting from Penn State Altoona Campus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was a diligent worker and retired from Shop-Vac where he was Vice President of Purchasing after 21 years of service. He was previously employed at Hamilton Beech as a plant manager advancing to the corporate level. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Roger's memory may be made to Loaves and Fishes at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament, 165 Clifton Boulevard, Binghamton, NY 13903 or to the Humane Society, 167 Conklin Road, Binghamton, NY 13903.
