Joseph McDonald, of Endwell, joined his one true love, Peg, in heaven Monday evening February 12, 2018 in the arms of his daughters, surrounded by his grandchildren, to celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary together. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret (McCormick) McDonald on Feb 14th, 2017, his parents James F. & Mildred (Holland) McDonald; a special grandmother, Mary C. Holland; and his five siblings. Joseph is survived by his four children, Eileen McDonald, Thomas & Lisa McDonald, Cathleen & John Liberati, Mary & Randy DeAngelo; 13 grandchildren, Kyle, Mary, Joey, Ryan, Caitlin, Christopher, Courtney, Elizabeth, Joseph, Anthony, Jake, Julia, Rocco and great-granddaughter Magnolia. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Newcomb DD256 during WW II. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his courageous service in 1945. He then went on to own and operate Joe McDonald's Barber shop for over 40 years. In 1962, he built a cottage on Page Lake & spent many memorable summers with his family here, creating a legacy. Joe was best known for his faith, family, strength and generosity. He always credited his Mother for her wisdom, love, and guidance as she raised 6 children as a young widow. He and Peg instilled these same values in their children and were always involved in the activities of their children and grandchildren thru the years. The family wishes to thank the VA Outpatient Clinic in Sayre, PA for their outstanding support and care of our father. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell, Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Agustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA in the Spring. The family will receive friends at the J.A.
