Harold Eugene Murrell, 76, of Binghamton, passed away January 31, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was born July 10, 1941 in New York City to the late Harold Osmond Murrell and Ethel (Smith) Murrell. He attended Andrew Jackson High School in Cambria Heights, NY where he played on the basketball team. He graduated from Hofstra College in 1964 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Army. While stationed in Germany he married his college sweetheart Brenda Joyce Harrison on December 23, 1965. Harold worked for the Federal Government in the General Services Administration for over 30 years and retired as Director of the Federal Supply Service in 2001. During his retirement, he enjoyed reading, watching movies and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Ethel Murrell and his sister Janice Murrell. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda; his two children David Murrell, Centereach, NY and Andrea (Thomas) Kelleher, Johnson City; two grandchildren, Noah Kelleher and Alyssa Kelleher and a host of other relatives. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
