Clare Marie (Gawrych) Hart, 88, of Endwell N.Y. died peacefully on January 18, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years Jack (John), and their children Thomas (Theresa) Hart, Mary Clare (David) Marasco, Daniel (Tania) Hart, and Michele Hart (Thomas Lemmo). 10 grandchildren, whom she adored, also survive her. They are Kevin and Nathan Hart, Carissa (Bo) Knapp, Ryan (Katherine) Marasco, Colleen Marasco, Daniel (Krissy) Hart, Amie Marie Hart, Kaitlin Lemmo, Brian (Tiffany and daughter Mallorie) Lemmo, Patrick Lemmo, and great- grandson, Calvin James Knapp. She also has many cherished nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Scranton, PA, Marie had 6 sisters and 1 brother. She was proud to be the daughter of Polish immigrants and fully embraced her heritage. She graduated from Scranton Technical High School and was an administrative assistant throughout her working career. She most favored her positions at GMAC in Harrisburg, Our Lady of Angels Church in Endwell, and Handicapped Children's Association in Johnson City.Marie enjoyed being active with family and friends, always willing to try something new. She enjoyed cake decorating, bowling, ice skating, watching sports, winning at BINGO, participating in church events, attending Polka festivals, traveling, taking cruises with her husband, and being the biggest fan at her grandchildren's events. She was a founding member of Our Lady of Angels Parish where she was active in the Altar & Rosary Society, volunteered on various committees, and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. Family was always Marie's first priority and she excelled in creating the tightly woven bond that keeps them close. She hosted family holidays and dinners, cooking family and cultural favorites, making sure her children and grandchildren learned and carried on family traditions. To know Marie was to love her, and she will be greatly missed by all who did. A Funeral Mass will be offered Monday at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Marie's memory may be made to Rose Court at Ideal Senior Living, 600 High Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760 or to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
