Raymond C. Murphy, 82, of Vestal, died Thursday January 11, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Murphy; his sisters and brother-in-law Elaine LeStrange and Betty and John Duffy; his niece Linda LeStrange and his nephew Rev. Gregg LeStrange. He is survived by his daughter Cathleen Murphy, Johnson City and his son Robert Murphy, Johnson City; his wife Alice C. (Casella) Murphy; his sister Carol Murphy; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from SUNY Binghamton. He enjoyed reading, history, politics and current events. He was a long time member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Court Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
