Obituary of Jane Murphy

Jane Murphy went to heaven Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Binghamton General Hospital. Jane was born June 6, 1952 in Binghamton, NY. She was predeceased by her father, Raymond Murphy. She grew up in Warren Center, PA and attended school in Wysox, PA, graduating in 1973. Jane resided in the Harding Avenue Group Home in Binghamton. She participated in Special Olympics, winning many medals. Jane liked to do word searches and crafts, especially latch hook and weaving potholders. Jane loved to spend time with her family. Jane is survived by her mother, Frances Lynch Murphy; her sisters, Kathleen and Ray Hughes, her twin, Joan and Michael Mesaris, Theresa and Gary Friloux; and her brother, Michael and Linda Murphy; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, caregivers at Harding Avenue Group Home and many friends. Her family would like to thank all Jane's caregivers at Harding Ave. for their wonderful care throughout the years, especially during her time as a patient at Binghamton General Hospital. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Charles Street, Vestal, Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Little Meadows, PA. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
