Obituary of John F. Tirrell

John F. Tirrell, 58, died Monday, September 18, 2017 in East Syracuse, New York after a long illness. He was born August 24,1959 in Westmont, New Jersey to Paul and Mary Giblin Tirrell. John graduated from Seton Catholic Central High School and Villanova University and in recent years, worked for Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. He was married for 25 years to Penny Walker Tirrell, who supported him throughout many years of his illness. Besides his parents and grandparents, John is predeceased by his nephews Robert Tirrell, Ryan Johnson and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his two brothers, Paul (Julie) and Michael (Marie) Tirrell; two sisters, Margaret (Mark) Johnson and Maureen (Mark) Wadach; 11 nieces and nephews and their families; 4 aunts, Mary and Kathleen Giblin, Ellen Kenner and Mary Louise Freije; special Goddaughter Katie Tirrell; many cousins and long time friend Gary. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at St. Patrick's Church Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's name may be made to The Danielle House, 160 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905
