Obituary of Albertina Conti

Albertina (Carraro) Conti, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16,2017. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Fioravante, and two of her seven siblings. She is survived by her children, Maria and Jeff Upperman, Southlake, TX, Rita and Russell Keller, Rochester, Dr.Roger and Marlette Conti, Vestal; grandchildren, Gina(Chris), Vincent(Kim), Carla(David), Alessandra(Matt), Juliana, Stephen, Charles(Kate), Martina; three great-grandchildren, Angela, Anthony, and Ganisin; loving sisters, brothers,in-laws,and many nieces and nephews. Tina was born in Saonara, Italy, then moved to Tripoli, Libya with her family as a child. She dedicated her life to her family. As a young adult, she ran her father's florist shop where she met Fiore. They immigrated to Endicott, NY in 1958 and raised 3 children in Vestal. Wonderful neighbors became lifelong friends. A wonderful cook and homemaker, Tina was famous for her lasagna, pizza, and pizzelle. She volunteered her time through church and worked for many years at Novello's Dry Cleaning. Special thanks to the caring staff and special angels at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. An original member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Tina's strong faith was a living example to all. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Wednesday, September 20 at 12 noon. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Wednesday morning from 10 a.m to 11:30a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Tina may be made to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry,165 Clifton Boulevard, Vestal, NY 13850.
