Obituary of Dorothy I. Storton

Dorothy I. Storton, 85, of Binghamton, NY, passed away at Lourdes Hospital on Sunday. She was born on November 8, 1927 and lived a life driven by faith, family, and community and fueled by love. A lifelong Binghamton resident she settled down in the first ward when she married her late husband, Daniel. They enjoyed 54 joyful years of marriage and built a wonderful family together. When she was not tending to her family, working at Olum's, or volunteering at St. Cyril's Church, she enjoyed reading, cooking, and crocheting. She was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Binghamton. She is survived by her three daughters and five grandchildren respectively; Denise Morgan, Diane Aurelio and her husband Joseph, and Tina Rider and her husband Dan; a granddaughter and her husband Erin and Josh Ruberg, a grandson and his wife, Jason and Katelyn Aurelio, and granddaughters, Jessica Aurelio, and Miranda and Natalie Rider. Additionally, she was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Daniel Storton, and son Danny. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Robert Amrhein, O.F.M. Conv. will officiate . Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Dorothy may be made to Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment, Inc. 174 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
