Gerald H. Rusin, 78, of Binghamton went to be with the Lord on the evening of March 19, 2017 after an extended illness. He was born August 23, 1938 to the late Michael Rusin and Marion (Yeomans) George. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna (Kralovic) Rusin, son Gerald H. Rusin, Jr. ; son and daughter–in-law Joseph M. and Shelly Rusin; 7 granddaughters: Ashley, Stephanie, Jheri Jeannette , Teresa and Briana and Cory and Payton Rusin; 2 sisters: Karen Harris and Marina (Jim) Bromar; sister-in-law Joanne (Jim) Whited; brother-in-law Joe (Michelle) Kralovic as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerry served and protected the City of Binghamton, making his career as a Police Officer, subsequently becoming a Police Lieutenant for the Binghamton Police Department after 34 years, a job he took great pride in. Funeral Services will be held at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday at 10 a..m. Rev. Edward J. Zandy will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery, Kattelville, in the spring. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Jerry's memory may be made to the Binghamton Police Benevolent Association, 38 Hawley Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
