James Vincent Morabito, 92, of Binghamton died Tuesday March 14, 2017 at Elizabeth Church Manor. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Mary Louise Morabito; his sisters Mary and Anna; his brothers Fred, Joe and Sam. He is survived by his children Mary Storti and Dan Fitzgerald; Mark and Eva Morabito; his grandchildren Ava and Renee Morabito; a brother Salvatore Morabito and Lorraine; his companion Barb and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton. He was a retired Master Plumber for the Binghamton School District. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with the 299th Engineers and was in invasion at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Sons of Italy, American Legion and the V.F. W. The family wishes to thank the staff of Elizabeth Church Manor especially Vicki, Lorie, Jose, Cheryl, Shannon and Renee. A special thank you to Mary Ann and Al, Marie and the Morabito families. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Court Street, Binghamton, Friday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 5 to 7 p. m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in James's memory may be made to Elizabeth Church Manor Activities Fund, 863 Front Street, Binghamton, NY 13905.
