Francis M. "Frank" Linehan, 91, formerly of Chenango Bridge passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 2, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Kruger Linehan, three children and their spouses; Tim and Lisa Linehan, Owego; Margaret and Richard Maloney, Vestal; Joanna and Patrick Doyle, Chalfont, Pa. also his grandchildren Meaghan (Dan) Stark, Shannon, Sean , Patrick, Erin , Kelly, Clare, Brian, Kevin, Tommy, and a great grandson Jack. He was a native of Schenectady, graduating from St, Columba's High School, and received his Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame. While at Notre Dame he was a member of the freshman basketball team, president of the Commerce Forum and president of Student Council. He was active in Notre Dame Alumni circles, serving as president of his alumni class while living in Schenectady, Pittsfield Mass. and the Triple Cities. He is an honorary life member of the Third and Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. During his time in the Triple Cities, he was active in Catholic Church and school activities at St Catherine's serving as President of the PTO, as well as a member of the Parish Council and Finance Committees. He coached Little League and girls softball in Chenango Bridge, as well Saturday morning basketball at St. Catherine's for many years. Frank also served as the Vice President of the Chenango Valley Booster Club. He was active in Business and Professional circles; Frank was a former member of the Broome Chamber of Commerce and former Chairman of the Industrial Safety Committee. He was a certified Protection Professional by the American Society of Industrial Security and served as chairperson of the Capital District and Triple Cities chapters. He retired from General Electric with 37 years of service as Manager of Plant Security /Services and was a member of the GE Quarter Centuries Club and Elfun Society. Frank was very dedicated to his family, Catholic Faith and his Alma Mater. Frank's family would like to thank all the staff from Good Shepherd Fairview for all the loving care they have given to Frank during his stay there. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Leroy and Oak Streets, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Frank's memory can be made to the Sisters of St Joseph Provincial House, 385 Watervleit Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110.
