Minerva Crossley, better known as Binnie, died Saturday evening, September 24, 2016 at Good Shepherd Village in Endwell. She was 88. Binnie was born in Windsor, NY on October 20, 1927. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Crossley. She is survived by her three children, Sally Crossley (Binghamton) Cynthia Crossley (Boston, MA) Peter Crossley (Boston, MA) and two grandchildren Benjamin Crossley-Marra (Brooklyn) and Laura Crossley-Marra and Nickolas Smith (Lake Forest, IL), her half-sister, Margaret (George) Frazier, two brothers-in-law, Anthony and Marilyn Crossley (Kingwood, TX) and Jonathan Crossley (Seattle, WA) one sister-in-law, Pamela and Robert Faulkner (Barrington, RI), and numerous nieces and nephews. Binnie graduated from Windsor High School in 1945 and from Keystone Junior College in 1947, after graduating she moved to Washington, D.C. for work. In later years, Binnie worked at Jewel T Corporation in Conklin, was a member of the Junior League, and, more recently, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. In addition, Binnie was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Binghamton. Her hobbies were many. A voracious reader, she was also a NY Times crossword puzzle enthusiast. She loved music, to sing and to dance, to garden, and to cook gourmet meals. But first and foremost, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.The family would like to extend its thanks to the staff at Good Shepherd Village for their many years of kindness and support. Memorial Services will be held at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, 44 Main Street, Binghamton Friday at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Glenn Mahaffey, Interim Rector, will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends in the Hoyt Room of Trinity Church, Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Animal Care Council, 131 Washington Ave, Endicott NY 13760 or to an animal charity of your choice.
