LaMantia, Salvatore V. Binghamton: Salvatore V. LaMantia, 89 of Binghamton died Thursday September 13,2012 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Lamantia, He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mildred LaMantia. He is survived by his children, Sally McDonald, Barbara Lindenmuth, Rose and Joseph Mack all of Binghamton, Anthony and Anne LaMantia, Richmond, Va., Salvatore J. LaMantia, Thomas and Sharon LaMantia, John and Amy LaMantia all of Binghamton; 20 grandchildren, Joseph, Keith, Neil, Scott, Brian, Matt, Mark, Kelly, Chris, Ryan, Kevin, Katie, Michael, Megan, Brittany, Rachael, Vincent, Jack, Julie, Zach; great-grandson Alex; a sister Rosanne Palilla. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. Sal retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Adirondak's and the N.Y. Giants. He loved spending time with family and grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A.McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Monday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Sal may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy Street, Binghamton, NY 13905 of Seton Catholic Central High School Athletic Dept., 70 Seminary Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13905.
