Obituary of Fred A. Hamdan

Fred A. Hamdan, 79, of Binghamton, went home to the Lord on June 17th, 2013 at Wilson Hospital. He was predeceased by his father, Abraham Hamdan; and his mother, Nora Hamdan Ferris; his brother, Joseph Hamdan; and stepfather, Ferris N. Ferris. Fred was born in Binghamton on July 22, 1933. He graduated from Binghamton Central in 1953. He was a retired Endicott Firefighter and served in the US Navy. He was also the owner of Fred's Window & Screen Repair for 28 years on Laurel Ave. in Binghamton. Fred is survived by his children, Cindy and Mike Anthony, Fred and Emerita Hamdan, Linda and Mike Collins, and Laurie Prego. He is survived by his grandchildren, Michel (Chad) Norcross, Noralynn Collins, Michael (Sacha) Castelli, Joseph Castelli, Fred Castelli, Joseph Hamdan, Tiffany Hamdan, Jordan Hamdan and Caley Prego. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Andrew Stewart, Talia Castelli, Michael J. Castelli, Alexander Norcross and Sebastian Locke. He is also survived by a special cousin, Richard Jallad, and many other cousins; his wife, Catherine Hamdan, Endicott; a niece, Valerie Jasinski, Houston, TX; and good friends, Frank Groom and Pat and Jack Nalley. Fred was known for his kindness towards everybody that he knew. He will be very sadly missed by his children and grandchildren. God will hold you in His hand and we will hold you in our hearts forever. We love you, Dad. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday at 1 p.m. Rev. Msgr. John P. Putano will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
