Obituary of George N. Milton

George Nicholas "Nick" Milton 72 of Vestal passed away on a quiet Sunday morning, July 17, 2016 at Ideal Assisted Nursing after a struggle with congestive heart failure. Nick was pre-deceased by his parents, Nicholas L. Milton and Mary Kathryn Milton and several aunts and uncles. Nick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cheryl; his son, Nicholas Deane (Mickey); his daughter, Mary Catherine; his beloved granddaughter, Isabella and several nephews. Nick was born in Yonkers, NY and grew up in Ardsley. Nick served in the U.S. Army with three tours in Viet Nam. Nick didn't want to work in the restaurant business with his father, so he began a long and successful career with IBM. He enjoyed his years at IBM and met many wonderful people. He enjoyed recruiting new faces for IBM and retired out of the Endicott location after 35 years. Never one to sit idle, he soon found a socially fulfilling job with LIQUOR TOWN in Vestal. Nick managed the American Legion Post 89 for a time and then due to health issues finally retired. Nick will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is gone too soon from our lives. A Memorial for Nick will be held at a later time the family chooses.
