Obituary of Davette L. Eaton
Please share a memory of Davette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Davette L. Eaton, 65 of Binghamton, NY, passed unexpectedly on June 30, 2016 from complications due to surgery.
She was predeceased by her parents, David and Selma Lebous. She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Charles C. Eaton, Jr., her beloved siblings; sisters Bader L. Micalizzi (Karl) and Martee LeBow Bachy (Philippe) and cherished brother David J. Lebous (Kathy); her step-daughter, Amy Eaton Ramsayer (Scott); five brother-in-law's, Michael R. Eaton (Diana), Thomas R. Eaton, Dean J. Eaton (Carol) Stacy J. Eaton (Tricia) and Daniel A. Eaton; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and two step-grandsons – all whom she loved like her very own.
A native resident of Binghamton, Davette was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School and Broome Community College. She had a long and successful sales career in the wine and spirits industry, having recently retired from Empire Merchants after more than 32 years.
Family meant everything to Davette. She was beautiful, with a generous spirit and unparalleled passion and compassion, and her shy, yet magnetic personality, was a blessing to all who were graced by her company. The consummate hostess, her thoughtfulness and care made any day or special occasion joyous and festive, especially for the youngest members of the family. She had an exuberant sense of playfulness and humor, and loved summer, traveling, good food and drink. She was gracious, with a smart and elegant sense of style. It was not unusual for her to be so enthusiastic about something new she'd tried, that by the time you tried it, it was your new favorite thing too. Davette had a resolve unlike any other, and a resounding positivity that never faded. She will be deeply missed and remembered with great love and respect by anyone whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Msgr. Michael T. Meagher will officiate.
