My sister Denise was always my best friend. I could tell her anything and we called each other on a daily for advise, support or just for silly talk. Some days 2,3 or 5 times a day. When our families were young we spent most days together either at our home or at hers with so many of our memories intertwined. Denise was strong, loving with her family her top priority. When we lived in FL we enjoyed her visits for pleasure but even more when Terry was hospitalized, she was on the 1st plane to help in any way. Never a question, she was always the 1st one in motion when someone was in need. Before her formal diagnosis of ALS she called me daily about symptoms and tests because she didn't want her kids to know. The lose of understanding her voice and talking was excruciating, then the typed messages we shared became fewer and then we communicated with stickers on facebook, but that stopped as well. The smile always remained!
She rallied on her birthday April 7th, then was hospitalized, She rallied again on Jimmy's birthday and all of her children and grandchildren gathered at her bedside. She could only move her head to one side and open and close her eyes and that is how I witnessed her playing peek a boo with her little Grandson Noah. Her Brothers and Sisters held her had, prayed, and mourned the fading of her smiling eyes and the end of laughter.. Thank You to Lourdes Hospital medical teams for the kindness and comfort shown to the family.
Our hearts are broken! I know she is with our Lord and Savior in heaven, free of pain, and hugging our Momma. Until we see you again....We Love You, Cindy and Terry
